I have NEVER understood the awe that so many FReepers hold for Ann. She is not, nor has she ever been, THAT good looking, THAT smart, THAT articulate or even THAT Conservative.
She spouts some good lines, and she writes an amusing column, but in the back of my mind I get the feeling that she’s actually laughing at Conservatives because they go so crazy when she throws red meat at them.
Of course, the next day it’s back to the never-ending circuit of cocktail parties, dinners, and all the rest of the fun stuff that the Bos-Wash types do.
Now, finally, she has shot herself in the foot and a lot of people are waking up and wondering just why in the hell they have been so smitten by her.
Oh well... better late then never.

I've wondered that about Ann for some time...that (s)he's a caricature of what she thought conservatives are and was just waiting for the chance to turn on us in every possible way. She laughed all the way to the bank on conservatives' dollars. Now she's finally hanging out with her own ilk for real.
