Dogs and humanoids have been together so long they have co-evolved. Cats not so much, They are still virtually the pure predators.

Years ago, I read a comic strip--I believe it was Rick O'Shay--in which a cat looked on in horror as a man gave commands to his dog: Sit! Roll over! Beg! Heel! And so forth--and the dog obeyed every command.

The cat thought, "poor dog. He'll never make it as a cat."

Oh, boy. You might want to pick up a copy of Cat Fancy magazine some time, take a gander at all the breeds. If most of those breeds were turned loose to survive in a barn environment, they would never make it.
