Beck wears whatever beard is the flavor of the week, who isn't a threat to Mitt, Gingrich is, and Beck devotes himself to stopping that threat.

After dismissing Palin back when she was a real threat, Beck said this.

"I have to tell you that Mitt Romney could be the only guy that could win, and I don’t know if he could because I think that Americans are going to be I mean, this country is going to be in deep trouble by 2012, and the next term, if it’s not decided this term, the next term will decide our fate. Then I hope that Americans are ready for an adult and are ready for hard news."

Beck has never been for Bachmann or Santorum. He has always been for Romney, but tries to hide that fact by saying favorable things about candidates who are no threat to Romney.

I heard him say that to Coulter today. But the second part of his sentence was, “And I don’t know why...it’s nothing specific, I just get a feeling.” Beck is good on research but he is very selective about it. If he can’t come up with a specific reason WHY Romney is scary, then he’s an idiot or being deliberately obtuse.
