The GOP establishment talking about going into smoke filled rooms & brokered conventions. Problem with that is, they're looking to come out of the smoke filled rooms with moderates like Mitch Daniels & Jeb Bush. My thoughts on this & also the dizzy upside down electorate. Sarah Palin appears on Fox Biz Tom Sullivan shows possibly why Palin never officially ran for president. Did she say what it would take for her to make a late entry?
By the way where is the vaunted TP-Express endorsement?

Spirit is one thing, but logistics is another matter. Let 2012 be a teachable moment for the conservative/TP base.
Unfortunate situation. We can’t be learning lessons right now. We have to be teaching them.
2008 was McCain’s turn. Romney got out in 2008 and was told 2012 was his turn.
Many people already knew that 2012 was going to be Romney in the lead and many knew he would probably end up the nominee.
We get to vote for amusement. The outcome is almost always determined prior to.
Your rulers know what's best! Shut up, sit down, and do as you're told!
It still amazes me why a lot of people don’t understand why the libs see us as fascists.
Yup. Lacking a handful of Soros level supporters who are prepared to write handfuls of checks with six zeros on them, or a “bundling” machine like the two major parties rely on, it would take a grassroots organization of unprecedented proportions to support a national 3rd party campaign. In this economy, that just ain’t happening. The big money donors and bundlers are already tied up with the RNC and you can darn well bet there would be massive panic if the Koch Brothers or their ilk ever threatened to bolt the RNC clutches. That’s what makes Adelson’s support for Gingrich so important and unique...it could be the start of something.
Just put yourself in the role of “OK, we’ve got to raise a half-billion dollars...” and see how the math works out.
In November of this year, we will either elect Sarah Palin President, or America becomes an historical footnote. Period.
There is nobody among the current group of possible nominees who is committed to the type of immediate and relentless reform that will be needed to turn this Ship Of State around. Nobody.
It would take a miracle, though stranger things have happened. It's either Sarah Palin, or we can
start finish typing the damn eulogy. As it is, The American Dream will need a jolt or two from a defibrillator and then 5 cc's of epinephrine straight into the junction of the Aorta and the Left Ventricle... she's already flatlined.
which liberal has articulated that as a reason why they call us fascists
>>...She obviously saw that the GOP had “picked” Romney as the “next in line”, the machine being set up, the money needed, and the lack of unity to get TP support...<<
Is it safe to presume that’s the gist of the video? I gave it a try, but bailed after about 30 seconds when — while listening to the mono-tone-drone — I noticed it was a twenty-seven minute “clip”.
Will somebody please suggest to me a reason WHY Palin hasn’t filed a lawsuit against the author of the book that said she had a one-night stand with NBA player Glen Rice.
She has lots of time to file a lawsuit. The background lawyer stuff takes time.
Then again, why sue? Have you seen the dismal Amazon sales on the McGuinness book (not to mention the lambasting reviews and commentary)? His career is toast. He’s become a joke in the literary world (translation: career over).
It appears nobody has read it...what’s there to sue about? (sarc)
I know a Brokered Convention is likely to produce an unsatisfactory client, but Miracles do happen.
I hope it would be similar to the selection of a new Pope in Rome. All the cardinals are locked in until a decision is made, and the white smoke is seen by the public.
Surprises certainly have happened in that process. My understanding is John Paul II was astonishingly unexpected.
It is said, many the Pope going into the voting has left the voting as a Cardinal!
So long as the Lord is watching over us, I have hope.
Thanks for the response. It would seem to me though that you would at least want to get the lawsuit out there, if just for appearance sake only. Otherwise, folks like me begin to think: “Well, maybe it happened.” It wouldn’t be a big deal to me if it DID happen. She wasn’t married at the time of the alleged encounter.
I adopted my tagline, "Draft Palin," three years ago because I foresaw that if we didn't coalesce around a single conservative we would face a single primary campaign juggernaut like McCain or Romney in 2012 and be unable to stop him. I thought Governor Palin was the logical choice, and that if we "drafted" her she would run and win. I proposed that we select Palin in particular because she was a governor, and that is the background you want to run against a sitting president. And because as the 2008 VP candidate we could argue that it was "her turn."
But too many people, even on FR, fell for the Alinsky spin and decided to back someone without the executive experience of a governor. So here we are, and all other choices besides the "echo" (Romney) and Newt have "hung separately." So, it's Newt. The real reason for this mess, though, is "Campaign Finance Reform." Ronald Reagan couldn't have run in 1980 under McCain-Feingold rules. After the passage of McCain-Feingold, McCain admitted that it wasn't sufficient and that even more stringent rules were needed. And he was right; instead of "taking the money out of politics," we see Obama promising his supporters that he will raise a billion - with a "b" - dollars for this campaign.
But far from indicating that Feingold should be made more stringent, it is a symptom of the fact that Americans cannot be prevented from speaking, and the money spent by the newspapers is no cleaner than the money of an oil company or anyone else. In fact, the Associated Press is more of a monopoly than any other company in the country. And Feingold favors the AP over the rest of the country. It is obscene.
I'll agree with you, and go one more step: Even Palin's election would only delay the day of America's destruction. The seeds of our next civil war were sown long ago, and the heads of the grain are now developing.
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
- Thomas Jefferson
I would hope that it is not yet that time. My preference is constitutional government without a second civil war to compel the far left to limit their overreach, but they get a vote too. It's a shame too; war is ugly - just not as ugly as the alternative in some situations.
