“Jerry Sandusky was accused of sexually molesting underage boys”

The writer is trying to condition his readers to think that if the boys hadn’t been “underage” all would have been well. This is a good example of sodomite spin.

Great point. In fact I have even read how some editorialists try to let many of those priests of the hook by their pointing out that many of the victims were adolescents as opposed to children.

achilles2000:

I apologize in advance for using your post as a platform for responses that go far beyond the parameters of your post but I wanted to put everything in one post, if possible. I am also responding to your specific post as part of this post.

With all due respect, I suspect that you are not very familiar with Michael Novak. He was once a socialist type trying to keep the Democrat Party from going completely nuts in the McGovern era (giving up on that impossible task in the 1970s, and a once dissenting Catholic but by 1978 he had taken a decisive turn to the right, left the Rockefeller Foundation and was and, I believe still is, employed by the American Enterprise Institute. He is now and long has been a leading social issue conservative.

Michael Novak is most certainly not attempting to "condition his readers" to accept homosexual perversion involving young men who had attained an age of consent much less minors who are teenagers.

A much more detailed and informed response is that of his brother who is a former trustee at Penn State (1988-2000) and now, as a result of the scandal, seeking to be elected again by alumni to the board of trustees. The brother has written an extensive and very informative article which is linked in the NRO article by Michael Novak. I read the brother's article when it was first published, courtesy of WPaCon who tipped me off to it.

The inbred culture that exists at Penn State among the officers and trustees guaranteed a culture of cover-up and everyone in the university's employ was bound to the extensive and ruinous rules of that culture.

First, Penn State has its own captive police department (sworn officers with the power of arrest) but that department is under the jurisdiction of a civilian (not a sworn police officer) university official (Schultz? who has been indicted). I was familiar with this kind of arrangement because it existed at Yale where I had many friend and at the University of Connecticut which I attended. A captive police department is inherently corrupted as an institution displacing other police authority (in practice if not absolutely). The captive police department does not arrest students or faculty for criminal drug activities or usually for criminal sexual activities. It would be bad for the university's reputation. The informal rule is for the captive police to play CYA for the institution as a whole. There was an investigation by campus police of Sandusky but that investigation was squelched not by Joe Paterno but by the higher authorities at the university.

The elected county prosecutor was investigating the scandal about seven years ago. One evening, he closed his laptop which contained his work product on the scandal, got into his car, drove away and was never seen again, suggesting he was kidnapped, murdered and disposed of. His laptop was found in a river with its hard drive separated from the computer by a few hundred feet and systematically destroyed to render its data utterly irretrievable. There are few situations in our country where prosecutors just up and disappear when investigating the powerful and law enforcement just cannot manage to find the missing prosecutor. As you can imagine, this story was, for a while, extensively covered in the local newspaper.

Sandusky created a foundation: The Second Mile Foundation which was, just coincidentally dedicated to providing services to, yes, fatherless boys who were "underage." Sandusky regularly involved himself personally in the "work" of the foundation and spent a lot of time with the fatherless young boys, one on one, so to speak. The fact that his victims were young boys does not make his abuses any less perverted and homosexual than they would have been if he had concentrated on eighteen-year olds or fifteen-year olds but the tender age of the rape victims IS a special extra by way of unacceptable perverted conduct. Compare and contrast a rack by a FReeper as to Mohammed and his 9-year old "bride" Aisha: that Mohammed might have said "old enough to pee, old enough for me!"

Joe Paterno did what he was required to do and all that he was allowed to do under the imbecilic CYA standards of the Penn State board of trustees. He obeyed the "private law" of Penn State as, no doubt, was required by his contract. He reported to (Schultz?) who was the civilian controlling the Penn State captive police (and rendering them totally ineffective by not passing the info to the cops on this to protect HIS superiors???).

Look at the whole story. Joe Paterno is of another generation. He was 85 when he died. He attended a Jesuit prep school in Brooklyn during World War II (which, for purposes of his knowledge and views of homosexuality much less child abuse of that sort, may as well have been during the Civil War or the American Revolution. In Joe Paterno's youth, the normal reaction to homosexual perversion (especially if perpetrated on children) would have been for a group of young men to waylay the miscreant, take him into an alley and beat the hell out of him within an inch of his life and effectively chasing him from the community.

Joe Paterno is not believed to have EVER personally witnessed Sandusky's perverted misbehavior. He was told by a junior nobody. ironically named McQueary, something. Since McQueary has three different versions, we know not which. McQueary's one advantage was being a big young guy and a lot younger than Sandusky. His male hormones required that he not just pass on by but that, IF he caught Sandusky in the act (which is only one version of three), he walk into the shower room stomp Sandusky's family jewels and beat the crap out of him and bring the kid and Sandusky directly to the cops. But noooooo, McQueary spends 24 hours ruminating before he even tells his own father. "Daddy, daddy, it was just awful....!" and then tells Paterno something (we know not what, given the three versions).

Paterno, who takes this sort of thing a LOT more seriously as gross perversion than many in later generations does not want to falsely accuse Sandusky without KNOWING what occurred but does believe that the story (whatever it was) ought to be investigated and so he brings what he has heard to (Schultz?) who is in charge of the police. You can bet your bottom dollar that the Bellefont police, the Centre County Sheriff's Department and the state police would have responded to the necessarily vague complaint of Paterno by deferring to the captive campus police. That is how law enforcement bureaucracies work. McQueary well knew whatever he actually knew and, if he knew that a child rape had taken place, he was a lot more concerned about retaining his job as an assistant coach than about the well-being of the kids. Why did he not so complain to other police departments when no action was forthcoming? Was it that if he sensationalized a pedestrian story (i.e. was not an eyewitness but claimed to be) he could wind up being arrested for a false report of crime to police authorities in any department.

Joe Paterno was the most nationally known and respected person associated with Penn State. Can you name 3 of the 40 trustees? 2? Even 1 other than Spanier? Any other athletic coach? Any athlete still directly involved with Penn State and nationally known? Who is Graham Spanier? Who runs the Second Mile Foundation? Who else got fired simultaneously but was far lesser known and probably a LOT more responsible for the coverup than anyone else? Virtually no one outside of Happy Valley had the slightest clue who Graham Spanier is and his track record.

Graham Spanier arrived at Penn State in 1995 as its newly chosen president. He came from Nebraska (University of?) where he had punished students for praying (Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!) as a group before football games. When Spanier was inaugurated as Penn State president, he vowed to make Penn State the MOST GAY FRIENDLY campus in America. There is a lot of competition for that title but Spanier was a star in that world.

When Sandusky's alleged rapes of children reached the public, even the Penn State trustees knew that it was time to fire Spanier as president (Spanier is a tenured sociology professor at Penn State as well but shhhh! don't tell the public) and still on the payroll in that capacity. No one nationally had ever heard of Spanier and his firing went unnoticed because Joe Paterno, a national idol, had been fired. The firing of Paterno soaked up ALL the public attention and the bonus for the perverts and their protectors at Penn State is that Paterno was socially conservative.

Long before Spanier arrived to make Penn State the most gay friendly campus in America, there was a women's basketball head coach (whose name escapes me) who was apparently a serious Catholic who had graduated Immaculata College, a small women's Catholic college in Pennsylvania. After short terms as women's basketball coach at a couple of other colleges, she took the job at Penn State and served for 26 years. She personally recruited her players, and promised their families (to their visible relief) that lesbianism would not be tolerated in her program, and she led a very high quality and successful program. After losing in the NCAA tournament in year 26, she had discovered a lesbian relationship between two players whom she removed from the team.

By then Spanier was there and she was soon forced out as coach. What, after all, is more valued by Graham Spanier and his enablers, 26 years of moral leadership and outstanding athletic results or the disordered desire of two perverted women for one another? For Spanier, the wrong choice was his and a no brainer.

I do not doubt Sandusky's guilt, BTW. I should regard him as legally innocent until proven guilty but I have also read the grand jury report and, if I were Sandusky, I wouldn't be making any social commitments or other plans for the next 940 years to life. His pain might be briefly intensified but of very short duration if they put ol' Jerry in the general population at a maximum security Pennsylvania prison. The fellow prisoners will know what to do for the hour or so that he might last. They may be murderers, rapists of adults, burglars and stick up artists but they tend to be very certain NOT to be child molesters or to tolerate those who are.

Any trustees or or other university authorities (Schultz?) or Spanier who covered up and can be convicted should be in the general population as well, thereby saving taxpayer many years of providing them room and board. They would be just as popular among normal prisoners as homosexual serial killer and cannibal was in the Wisconsin prison system where he was dispatched by fellow prisoners jailed for more conventional criminal behavior.

My questions:

1. What happened to the disappeared prosecutor? And who did it? And why?

2. Did the Second Mile Foundation provide young boys to any Penn State trustees or officials? Who, When, Where and how soon can they be indicted? Can they bring in Gerry Spence or someone as capable as Special Prosecutor? Before he was a senator, Arlen Specter was a legendary prosecutor and trial attorney in Philadelphia and he has time on his hands now and has a Pennsylvania law license.

3. What did Graham Spanier know and when did he know it? He was authorized by Penn State's sick CYA rules to withhold knowledge from the Trustees at his discretion. How soon can he be indicted, convicted and incarcerated? 4. As DmanA has asked, why don't they let Joe Paterno rest in peace? 3.
