Unless her Mom was in England in 1943/44, don’t think he could be her Dad. Senior had already ordained that Junior would be President. Joe Jr was in England trying to assemble a war record that would make him look heroic without taking any actual risks.
Considering he died flying a planeload of explosives out of which he was supposed to bail before it was crashed into a Nazi target that plan did not work out very well. One can criticize the Kennedy clan for countless things but Joe Jr. and Jack did serve. Did they do so to prep their resumes for Papa's dream of a presidential son? Maybe. Scum bags? In Jack's case as far as his treatment of his marriage and women in general? Certainly. But they did go into harm's way when a lot of others didn't but still used the uniform as a campaign tool (thinking of LBJ - perhaps JFK's womanizing equal and a far bigger SB).
Mo is commenting on the physical resemblance of Billy Jeff to Joe Kennedy.
Even when one considers the rate of peacetime training accidents alone, military aviation is a somewhat risky endeavor; doing it in a wartime theater even moreso. Quite admittedly, getting into a car, a boat or a plane with a Kennedy seems to somehow multiply the hazard, and while I'm not a Kennedy fan by any stretch, I also believe that credit should be given where it is due.
Not really fair to Jr. He volunteered for a dangerous mission, and it actually killed him.
I cannot believe I am going to defend a Kennedy...but joe did such a good job avoiding risks that he got himself blown up over the channel.
The Kennedy’s were/are punks. But joe and jack had balls. Which is so much more than we can say about 99% of our “leaders” today.
