” I don’t need the landline service.”
Keep in mind that a landline puts you directly on the 911 system for fire/rescue/police emergency response. I consider it a small expense for valuable insurance. Think about a loved one being in need of emergency medical care and weigh that against the importance of online video gaming.

Nobodies allowed to die anymore! Good old fashioned death is out of the question until every last dime’s spent and everyone suffers until the bitter, bitter END. As a physician, I protest Loudly!

I went with Verizon wireless for my telephone. I kept the same land line number and assume that gives 911 my address when I call.

The reason was my landline was down every time it rained, buzzing in the line and out oforder. It would take them a week to fix it after several calls.

Verizon and I assume all of the telephone companies are eventually going to stop maintaining and laying new hard wires and convert to only wireless anyway. Therefore their land lines will continue to decline and be allowed to deteriorate. We havent seen any new lines in place in years, and Verizon is laying off line workers.
