The Brotherhood of Railway and Airline Clerks decided to show The Rock that they meant business... in the aftermath, any really important RI assets were snapped up in the subsequent "fire sale," the marginal branches were either abandoned or left to small outfits with low labor costs, and there were a lot of EX-railway clerks who found out that taking the company's scalp didn't put much food on the table.
