We live in a semi-rural area on an acreage and have a long driveway leading up to the house. I installed a driveway alarm which alerts me to any vehicle entering the property. If it is not UPS, Fed-Ex or someone I know I am armed and ready by the time they arrive. I do not come to the door but they can hear my two large dogs barking. I am retired and am home most of the time, but set the alarm when I do leave. We have neighbors who are armed to the teeth and watch each others property.

Yep, driveway alarms are outstanding for advance warning.

Excellent, if I lived in the country (I did but no more) I would have a driveway alarm too. Dogs, big ones small ones, dogs who bark are excellent alarms as well. Do you have a camera? Even a game camera would tell you who came around when you weren’t there.
