A top executive of Japan's scandal-ridden Olympus Corp has been found dead in a park outside New Delhi, an apparent suicide, The Times of India said on Tuesday, quoting police.
Tsutomu Omori, 49, who was head of Olympus's medical equipment business in India, was found hanging from a boundary wall by a gardener in the park, which was part of an apartment complex in Gurgaon, just outside the capital, the daily said.
"Police have recovered two suicide notes written in Japanese. While one of them was meant for Omori's family, the other note only said "I am sorry for bothering you" in Japanese," the newspaper added.

Naw. What happened a little unusual: they got a hankering to hire a foreigner for the CEO post, and the guy found some financial weirdness —money was missing, and there were suggestions there’d been pay-offs to the YAKUZA.
The more this guy looked into it, the bigger and bigger it got. Everybody was telling him to shutup, and go away, and that HE DIDN’T UNDERSTAND THE CULTURE (this one is huge in Japan).
Finally they fired him, but it appeared he was correct.
And I guess this guy finally took responsibility for it, more or less.
Whoops —umm...it said this was the head of just the medical division, so I’m not quite sure that this was the same deal. I think the causes could have been many, many things.
This is not so uncommon in Japan.
His, “I’m sorry for bothering you” was almost surely a reference to the extra trouble/embarrassment that his SUICIDE would cause.
If you do anything that causes trouble or embarrassment in Japan, then it’s good form to point out that you notice that you’re doing that.
It’s weird or selfish if you don’t do that.
a thoughtful gesture. the poor gardener must have had a fright.
