He died of a heart attack and could still sing. He’ll get a paragraph and MAYBE a mention on the nightly news.

There was another Davy Jones, who had to change his name because of him...you all know him now as David Bowie.

Had the pleasure of meeting him and seeing him perform w/i the the last couple years. A nice gentleman apparently in great health. Accompanied by a gorgeous lady. Very sad very surprising.

It only took 19 replied for this devolve into filth. What a class act you are.
I remember him from late night infomercials for a music collection. When I was up late I'd check to see if it running so I could enjoy the familiar music. RIP.

As musicians, they got better as time went on, but I believe Tommy Boyce wrote most, if not all, of their material.

You were watching repeats obviously. The original show(which I used to watch) came on Monday nights at 8pm on NBC.

Mike Nesmith was always a good musician...Peter Tork wasn’t bad, neither....and did you know that Mickey Dolenz was the first choice to play Fonzie on Happy Days?

but I believe Tommy Boyce wrote most, if not all, of their material. Neal Diamond wrote a couple of their tunes IIRC.
Rest in peace, Mr. Jones and thanks for some great memories of simpler times.

I didn't think it was "filth". It was true.
This guy was upstanding and was never the center of a scandal. He will not get the recognition that others have. That is the nature of our press. They seem to push the worst of society as "idols" and "role models". I believe that is a shame and should be mentioned. Often.

I don’t know . . . my buddies and I couldn’t stand them for a minute since we found out that all four of them were phony-baloney, and had to be taught how to play their instruments AFTER they had made a fortune by being no better than Milly Vanilly.
I had no patience with these adlibing impostors.
