It seems simple to me . A land warrior taking a trip on a ship got seasick leaned over the rail to barf and his helmet fell off into the sea.

Bronze doesn’t rust.

Bronze corrodes. Ask any sailor that has had to clean it.

From the movie 300. Messenger: All that God-King Xerxes requires is this: a simple offering of earth and water. A token of Sparta’s submission to the will of Xerxes.
King Leonidas: Submission? Well that’s a bit of a problem.
islam 2012: All that islam requires is this: control of plant earth. A token of America’s submission to the will of allah. Freedom loving Americans: Submission? Well that’s a bit of a problem. America and Israel are today’s SPARTA!

Islam literally means “submission” and I will NOT submit!

“A token of Sparta’s submission to the will of Xerxes.”

Demands always start out small and “reasonable”, then incrementalism takes over. The first Federal income tax in 1913 was “only” 1%.

....it is very ornately engraved.

2,600 years in saltwater will "engrave" lots of things.

Thanks Perdogg. Clearly this isn't a Greek artifact, it was made by hardworking ancient Palestinians in Occupied Palestine. /s Just adding to the catalog, not sending a general distribution.

To all -- please ping me to other topics which are appropriate for the GGG list.
