Sioux Falls, SD - German shepherds may be the target of thieves in the Sioux Falls area.
According to KSFY News, several German shepherds have disappeared recently. One dog owner believes that foul play is to blame for the disappearance of her two shepherds.
Stacy Rostyne told KSFY News that she put her dogs out on the morning of January 5 and when she got back home after work, they were nowhere to be found.
Rostyne put up fliers in the area and then something interesting began to happen...other German shepherd owners in the area started to call her to tell her that their dogs had disappeared as well.
Owners reported that a shocking fifteen dogs had recently disappeared - most of them German shepherds.
It seems as if this particular breed is being targeted.
An owner of one of the snatched dogs witnessed the culprit drive off in a red SUV which they believed was a Ford Explorer.

You can still find "traditional" GSDs at New Skete Monastery, but more and more LE agencies and the military are trending toward Belgian and Dutch Shepherds to get the work done. Schutzhund competitors are keeping some decent GSD lines in tact, but are doing so mostly through importing directly from Europe.

FYI, black dogs, particularly “Germanic” breeds are targeted by occultists and satanists for animal sacrifice.

The local SPCA had a policy in which NONE of the above were adopted out prior to the “holy days” of the aforementioned cults.
Many years ago a guy came up from Louisiana to pick up his trike and was worried about his black lab which had been snatched from his yard the day before.
He went back home expecting he’d eventually find his dog.
This happened about a week before Beltane.

During my years as a Dobe rescuer I got to know one of the local shelter workers very well.
[she even got one of my rescue dogs]
Several times a year she was part of the “clean up team” who went to the known places and scraped up the tortured remains.
I am deathly serious about this.
These “people” -are- out there and they will take your animals and torture them to death as an ‘offering to the devil’.
Dogs stolen for labs *must* be intact dogs.
With male dogs, that’s readily evident.
With females, only a 50-50 chance.
I don’t think that is where these dogs are going.
Neither can I.
I suspect even more evil motives.

Now if I can figure out why his chin whiskers are turning gray at only 3 years old. ...then resolve his chronic ear infections and we’ll be set. ;>)
He truly is doing fantastic.
I would guess because beagles have a fair bit of bodymass, that they can test the results, but with the little legs, they can still fit in those small cages with reasonable comfort.
I am in Houston and there are coyotes in the middle of the city, they eat cats and small dogs, I have heard. I don’t hear of packs running around and our coyotes are strangely silent. We have hunted in south Texas and heard them yodeling. We have them on our property south of Houston, I wish they would attack the hogs like you say they attack German Shepherds.

Four hundred and six hundred pound German Shepherds moving in small herds would probably be safe from coyotes...
Surely the coyotes could snag a piglet. :D

Don’t worry. Probably just has more of the graying gene. My 9yo had a little gray mustache by 3yo.
Thank you. Falco is my first GSD and his colors have been beautiful, so it was unexpected.
Heck, I love this boy so much he could turn pink and I’d still be his pal... just wouldn’t want to be seen with him. ;>)
Very sad, but it’s good information to know, so that dog owners can be extra vigilant about protecting their dogs.
