"Republican voters were asked to describe their greatest concern if Romney wins the nomination. The most selected response, by 18 percent, was, “He waffles on issues and does not take a position." LOL

the article fails to highlight that Bob Dole at his weakest, would beat Obama.

Why is there even a question mark in the title? It’s Romney’s turn.

Bush, Dole, McCain, Romney—SSDD. The RNC just hopes you won’t notice.

Won’t vote for Romney ever. I’d rather fight the devil that has his mask off than approve of the costumed one that will sink conservatism.

Big problem is if Repubs do not turn out to vote for Romney. IMO, this is what some folks did when McCain was running in 2008. There by contributing to the Obama win.

“Bob Dole is the new Bob Dole”, said Bob Dole.

I often defend Romney, as I defend all the republican candidates. All are fine with me.

Yes he definitely has to fear appearing like Dole. BTW Dole wasn’t weak he had a reputation for a mean streak. We would have been so better under Dole than Clinton.

Dole was just labeled as a loser, definitely as too old. Don’t fall into any of these traps, folks. Our nominee will be savaged no matter who it is.

I live in the Philadelphia area. While you all enjoy the image of Santorum as an “everyman” I can tell you the Pennsylvania media had him targeted as an extreme out of touch right wing homophobic nazi.

If anything, Santorum is a guy I’d feel most comfortable with in the White House, and he is the guy the media most loves to hate. But they will do Gingrich or Romney the same favor.

I couldn’t wait to hear Rush today deal with the media spin that more jobless means a “robust recovery”. Stay vigilant.

>Is Mitt Romney the new Bob Dole?<

.
Is the new GOP the old ‘let’s all get along’ GOP?

“Is Mitt Romney the new Bob Dole?”

As a person? No. Mittens isn't half of a Bob Dole.

As a repeat of history? Absolutely, to a T.

1994/2010 a great populist uprising takes place and ties the hands of an Anti-American liberal POS.

1996/2012 the populist uprising dissipates, fails to finish the job, and grants four more years to the clown president to hurt the country.

The frustrating thing is that Bob Dole could beat Obama this year:
http://www.nationaljournal.com/columns/common-sense/the-over-under-for-2012-20110106
if 0’s approval rating and unemployment stays the same.

Romney, on the other hand ......

If mitt gets nominated he will have a problem cause conservative Republicans like me just can not get thrilled at all to go out and work for this liberal RINO chump.
I’m f-ing fed up with the likes of Bob Dull, Juan McLame,
And all the damned Bush’s and Klintoons.
REAL conservative or go fish.
The Tea Party should adopt the Who’s We Won’t Get Fooled Again as a theme song on this one.;

No. Bob Dole wrote One Soldier’s Story while Mitt counter protested war protesters.

Is Mitt Romney the new Bob Dole?Bobdole was never actually a socialist. He presented as an actual "moderate" conservative, center-right, as it were. His instincts were conservative, he just thought that he could get there with a little government tweaking.

No, not even close. Bob Dole is an honorable man and a war veteran, who didn’t use his PAC to sh*t upon anyone deemed a threat to his political aspirations.

...And Dole came closer to victory in ‘96 than Romney will this year.
