But if the US is more bananas than they were ... Well they elected a first term Senator who virtually no one had heard of before the election season for the 2008 election. One known primarily for voting "Present". One who had no executive or managerial experience, no business/industry experience, whose main experience was as a quasi-public sector "community organizer" and who was also know for voting "present" in the Illinois State Senate.

So they may very well be more bananas than Chile was. Actually Chile would be more of a Guano Republic, I don't think they have many bananas there.
