My Message to Rick Santorum

March 23, 2012

Not too long ago, I had asked a woman from Pennsylvania what she thought about Rick Santorum. Knowing that she was as conservative and as Republican as I am, I was surprised at her response. She said, “He is the worst. Those of us who know him best have nothing but contempt for him. He is not an honest person and certainly would not hesitate to stab a fellow politician in the back.” That was a few weeks ago, but I have learned what a tawdry character Santorum is. He is a jealous weasel who actually would rather see a fellow Republican defeated by the despicable Barack the Boastful.

Can you imagine he is actually one step away from campaigning for Obama?

Anyone who doesn’t realize Santorum is a jealous little weasel (Bob Grant’s words, not mine) was not paying attention to the debates, especially the early debates.

Santorum long ago lost me with his attacks on Gingrich - while offering virtually nothing on the same order toward the current lawless President.

By default, by 8 total votes, out of a tiny population that has almost nothing in common with most folks in the country, after Newt had been carpet bombed.

Newt was carpet bombed by Romney, and that should have meant that Romney would win the caucus. You said that Santorum was jealous, but he won the primary.

You abject lack of logical skills are breathtaking. Newt was bombed by everyone, including Santorum. But that's beside the point: there is no reasonable person who really thinks that the one who carpet bombs will be the one who benefits. That kind of logic should be left behind on the kindergarten play ground. So I'll leave you there. I can't stoop that low anymore. You make my head hurt.

Bob Grant’s a lot of things. RINO is not one of them. I’ve heard Grant for over 30 years, first on WABC then WOR and he made me uneasy until one day he agreed wholeheartedly with a caller who referred to the vast majority of junior high kids in the school I taught at savages and criminals. From that point on he made my skin crawl.

It’s worked for Mitt everywhere.

“Newt was bombed by everyone”

But Mitt was the one with the money running ads. Santorum isn’t responsible for Newt’s loss. Satorum still defeated Romney in Iowa, and you said that Santorum was a jealous weasel at the beginning.

a woman from Pennsylvania said, “He is the worst."

Bob Grant used to be better than to quote hearsay from some anonymous woman. In fact I remember Bob quoting Ronaldus Maximus and the 11th Commandment.

The “so what” is that there’s something really unseemly about church people voting in lockstep because some ‘leaders’ decide “X” is ‘their’ candidate. The candidate doesn’t have to be best for USA, just simpatico with the aforementioned church ‘leaders.’ One would think they were electing the equivalent of the Pope instead of POTUS.

Why are we posting stuff like this? If Santorum doesn’t beat Romney, it’s Romney or Obama. What an unnamed woman said to Bob Grant is not very substantial. We need to support Santorum at this point.

On a more positive, hopeful note, if Santorum and Gingrich could work together on a united ticket I think they would crush Romney even at this late stage of the game. They would also be able to divide the campaign trail and work twice as effectively.

Just a question, if they united, would that automatically mean that their delegates would be combined?

“You don’t know that all of Santorum’s voters were Evangelicals.”

Who said ALL of Santorum’s voters were Evangelicals? That may be your inference, but it is not what I posted. Neither did I say he got ALL evangelicals. However, he did get the bulk of Evangelicals who voted, which was enough to sway the caucuses in his direction.

And Romney and Paul didn’t get any Evangelicals to vote for them? Who cares who voted for him? He still defeated the frontrunner who had all the money, and the establishment behind him.

According to this group of perpetual malcontents, Reagan was a RINO. He was a former Democrat, had a divorce, frequently compromised with Democrats and believed in free trade.

I Reagan was running today, they would call him every vile name in the book. The word “respect” is not even in their vocabulary.

You need to reframe your definition of a Conservative.

You are more of a fringe religious lunatic, who is confusing Conservatism with theocratic law. To put it into more simple terms that you might be able to understand, everyone who does not agree with your limited perception if reality, is automatically a RINO.

Now I understand your mentality, you frame the structure of your argument from the grade school playground. All responses are led by childish insults.

You call yourself an Atheist, which is on the fringe of sorts. The behavior is the same however. So I will immediately correct my error by saying you are coming from the outlook of an Atheist fanatic.

You cannot compare Reagan to today's GOP, since the demographics of the country are over 30 years past. And you are wrong about the Romney supporters opposing Reagan. Most of Romney's supporters were rabid Reagan campaign supporters. I can claim that from actual experience, since I was a Reagan campaign volunteer myself, and spent a good part of my young adult life during that era.

The demographics don’t matter for the primary. You insulted me first, secondly you brought up Regan, not me. Romney isn’t the conservative in the race, so why would Reagan supporter be supporting him? Romney supporters would be George H.W. Bush supporters, and Ford supporteres.
