Newt has the presence of the elder statesman, but too few appreciate or recall his importance to the survival of the Republican Party in ‘94 and the public eating of democrats in that election, due to Newt’s brain and single minded leadership.

Newt WAS the first Tea Party; Rick was but cutting teeth and needing handlers, and Romney was off being, well....being Romney— “off”.

Rick must fit the American voter today who, knowing nothing much of our history, rather likes bright, shiny objects who can strut and fret well on stage, with convincing passion and little to offer in either plan or strategy.

Depressing, I must say, but for a snarling good convention possibly. :)

I wish folks were voting for our next ADULT Commander-in-Chief, not an impulsive, argumentative teenager, given to pandering, but it is what it is.

Like you said, it’s depressing, but I have voted and now it’s in the hands of others. I pray they’ll wise up and give Newt a lot of delegates so we can have a rousing, brokered convention!
