Thanks - what’s a waxing vs waning moon?? As a lifelong sailor, I should know, but I’ve been too busy looking at my nighttime compass :<)

Waxing = increasing, getting bigger.
Waning = decreasing, getting smaller.

That's why the full moon is so bright...all that waxing for 14 nights.
