Remember when? I do, I did, only we had only a wicker basket. Grandma washed, for 8 kids and grandpa, who had minors asthma we call black lung today. She worked at the local Shirt Factory in LaFollette, TN.

I also washed cloth diapers and fatigues in the bath tub, because the

Red Cross would not loan a poor E3 a dime if they had an emergency that ate up their reserve money, like a repair to the ONLY car. and we went hungry for a few days to boot. Only the baby was fed.

Good morning, Gail.

Ahhh .... the good ole days ... Right!

I washed cloth diapers and hung them on the line to dry.
Everything smelled so sweet after hanging in the sun and a soft breeze.

Life was harder but also much simpler .... a good life ... lots of sweet memories.
