Our Aussie is a loved member of the family but he is definitely high maintenance.

Shedding? LOL!. I’ve often considered starting a mattress factory.

Most of the “high maintenance” associated with Aussies (besides giving them enough attention) is vacuuming the carpets. Someone said that dog hair is a condiment of life! Mattresses? Hmmmm...I never thought of that. :-) I read somewhere that Aussies shed their coat every 6-8 weeks; I could believe that. When I brush them, hair comes out by the handfuls, enough to knit a new dog. At least, the coats stay clean and we rarely need to bathe them.

Our dogs are also “Velcro” and have attitudes typical of the breed. I can’t imagine having anything else.
