Meat is halal, but not dog meat. Dog meat is haram everywhere in the Islamic world. Dog meat vendors cannot get permits in Indonesia because it’s a legal requirement that you only sell halal food to get a permit.
Of course, for the upper classes, but not the poor. The rules change when you are between basic survival and no survival at all. They eat rats too.
The story is not a joke. Obama put it in his book. HE SAID HE ATE DOG MEAT!
They can eat anything they want, but it doesn’t make it halal.
Just proves that being Moslem is no excuse for being stupid.
I know Bosnian Muslims who smoke weed, drink, and eat pork too. When I asked one of them about the drinking, he said “it’s more of a cultural thing”. So, they are probably about as serious about their religion as the average European Catholic or Protestant.
