My brother used to say: I'd rather have 2 sisters who were
whores than 1 brother who was for the Cubs. Growing up
in Chgoland, if your family house was south of Madison Street,
you were knighted for life to pay unbridled homage to the Sox.

Along with Ryan’s many, Seaver also had a no-no after leaving the Mets.

I'm NW of Ohare and have always lived on the N side. Always been a Sox fan.
Just to stubborn to follow the crowd.
Too many people just blindly following, believing all the hype. And telling themselves how cool the Cubs are.
Just like Democrats.

That’s why you’re a mountn man: you’re a tough guy! It was mandatory for south-of-Madison folks to be Sox fans, but that didn’t mean that manly men of northern climes might not also show their virility, men such as yourself. I was an Oak Parker, and our house was just 3 blocks south of Madison on Jackson Blvd. Lucky for me!

Also, the Mariners fans were very classy. Yes they were. Sadly, we here in the Chicago area don't see that kind of classy behavior from the "amateur team" up on the North side in Wrigley Field.

23rd. Milt Pappas should have had one in 1972 if not for Bruce Froemming calling a borderline ball 4 on a strike. I really think the ump on this one wasn’t going to call that a checked swing no matter what.
