With Rarity you have the "Fashion Character" which there is in all shows aimed for girls. Rarity isnt a shallow, self centered, rich appearance obsessed girl like all other characters under her category. shes and artistic and clever drama queen, with a hint of OCD. She is someone girls can actually aspire to be if they are lovers of clothing and fashion.
Pinkie Pie- My suspicions were correct. Pinkie pie is the most unstable of the group. A harsh Amish upbringing with little socializing. This leads her to be needy and emotional and wanting to be the center of attention. Hence her parties. If they had continued to ignore her for another day, Pinkie would have started kidnapping people and saying "Love me or I'll CUT YOU".
Fluttershy- Has rejections issues based on the lack of self esteem.
