The Official C4P 2012 Presidential Endorsement (well...not really)

“The Official C4P 2012 Presidential Endorsement”?

I jest, of course.

As is typical in all corners of society, the opinions of the editors and contributors at C4P vary like the varieties of coffee available at your local Starbucks.

The one thing we’re unified on…the one thing I can claim as the official C4P response with absolute certainty…is that none of us want to see Barack Obama re-elected this November.

After that, positions diverge and truly from there on out, I can only speak for myself.

A few years ago, it became quite clear to anyone who was even the slightest bit aware that the GOPe wanted Mitt to be the nominee. It’s not even a matter of opinion. Various representatives put it out there whenever asked.

I’d like to share with you my feelings on that; but as it turns out, the use of profanity apparently frowned upon by the other editors. Suffice it to say, I was not thrilled with the idea.

But then back then, I was still certain that the 2012 GOP primary would end up between Mandate Mitt and a certain Warrior from the 49th state.

After Palin announced on October 5th that she wasn’t going to run, I started to consider the real possibility that Mittens might end up as the nominee. Thankfully I was able to control my gag reflex before I made a big mess over my keyboard.

All humor aside, however, I was posed with a very serious dilemma.

At various times over the past few years, Governor Palin has discussed what we need in a nominee. In her piece, “Cannibals in the GOP Establishment Employ Tactics of the Left,” Palin wrote the following:

The GOPe want nothing more than for the reform movement to die so that they can go back to business as usual. We must NOT allow this to happen. And so, I cannot in good conscience endorse Mitt Romney for President.

You, my FRiend, are the real deal!

You're a real conservative, precisely because you stuck to your principles.

Yes…we must defeat Obama in the fall. But we as conservatives must not capitulate to the GOPe. We must not let them weaken our resolve or dilute our cause.

That's the critical point. Our goal is not just to defeat the particular big government liberal currently occupying our White House, it's to defeat big government liberalism. If the choice really is Obama/Romney, then we cannot defeat liberalism at the executive level and we must defeat it in Congress. We need, far more than ever before, to get every conservative to the polls in November so that we can repeat the landslide of 2010. We need a House that will propose and pass responsible spending bills with a balanced budget. We need a Senate that will reject liberal activist judicial nominees and demand a judiciary that defers to the Constitution of the United States as the "Supreme Law of the Land". It's our job as voters to make that happen in spite of the GOP-e shenanigans.

We also need to work harder to win over the undecided and the next generation. We need patriotic Americans working in the public schools to provide balance to kids who are trapped in a liberal cesspool. We need honest Americans in journalism. We need to continue having children and raising them with traditional values as the far left aborts their children or chooses relationships that cannot produce a new generation. We need to speak out when liberals make silly assertions while counting on us to keep quiet to keep the peace.

To say “I won’t endorse Romney” is meaningless.
Missing from this commentary is the meaningful statement, “I won’t vote for Romney.”
If the author truly believes that Constitutional Conservatism, or reform conservatism, is at stake and it’s “a matter of survival,” why does she write that “I’m going to have to work up the nerve to pull the lever for him?”
The nerve?
If you vote for him, you feed the animal that will return for more. Don’t feed the bears. They will return and destroy your house.

I am still hoping something will happen to save us from this nightmare.

But in November, if it’s a hard-left Communist versus a slimy snake in the grass/not Communist, for the sake of our liberties and for our children’s children, I’ll do what I must to protect us from the Communist.

There is an important distinction to be made though. Yes, by saying I don’t endorse him, by allowing myself the wiggle room to criticize our nominee, I’m saying I’m not going to play the game like I used to. My focus will be on the down ballot races so that, should Obama be ousted, the new President would be constrained by a Conservative House and Senate to keep him in line.

If anyone has a better solution as to how we can stop Mitt and stop Obama, I am all Ross Perots.

Ok, but I am hoping that Romney does not receive so many reluctantly cast, begrudged votes, that he is encouraged to run again in 2016.
He will lose in 2012 and I believe he should lose so overwhelmingly that no RINO will get anywhere near the nomination after this.
