oh and i meant to say that Bret Baier was there sitting just over from us, behind the goal. He was there before 7:30 which is pretty impressive considering he came directly from his show which ends at 7pm. Granted Fox is not far at all from the Verizon center, but i wonder where he parked. I don’t think he has a driver, because xsboy and i saw him pulling out of the garage once, Fox studios are up by Union Station and very near Gonzaga, when xsboy was still in HS. We took cellphone pix from our seats, but there were people going up and asking him for pix with him. he went at the first intermission and bought an Ovechkin jersey for himself and an OV tshirt for his wife. And he had a Miller lite : )

Win or lose, you certainly got your money's worth. In another 5 minutes and change, you would have sat through two complete games. The goaltending was borderline miraculous. The Caps were so dominant early that if the Rangers had a mortal in the net instead of King Henry, four or five goals could have been scored before the second period was half over. And the kid, Holtby, was also fabulous. Great, great game!

I had two buddies over to watch it on my 70" Sharp Aquos, which makes you feel like you're rinkside. One guy crapped out after one overtime, the other left after the second. Mrs. Truth, who is only an occasional fan, was riveted by the action and stayed up until the end. She even started echoing my screams of "Get the puck out of here!" when it seemed like the Caps were on a perpetual power play in the Rangers' end. I haven't seen her that excited since our wedding night ever.
