I enjoy the old TV programs on tubtub.com like Dragnet, Dick Tracy ect. but the Realplayer image flips to horizontal lines at each break and has to be restarted to see it again. Can this be fixed. There is no way to contact tubtub that I can find.
Had no idea about tubtub.com. Thanks!! Not sure how to fix your problem, but good to know this site is there!
By “break”, do you mean after the commercials? If so, it didn’t happen when I just tried using Windows Media Player. I rarely use WMP and instead regularly use VLC Media Player or ZPlayer. I haven’t tried them on tubtub yet.
Thanks for the heads up on tubtub - I’d never heard of it.
Step 1 is to change your default video player to anything not Realtime, that thing is one of the biggest hunks of junk out there. That’ll probably fix it.
I don’t know how you watch anything from that site. I go to tubtub.com and it lists all kinds of links, but when I click on them a second screen flashes and nothing else happens. This occurs in both Firefox and IE.
I found a link to tubtub/Westerns, and a screen comes up with a video but it tells me I don’t have the plug-in. I’ve downloaded the plug-in (MPlayer) and installed it, but now it tells me I need another plug-in. This is ridiculous.
Tubtub is garbage. There are other ways to watch these shows. Zulu??
I don’t know about tubtube, but I would avoid like the plague anything that uses realplayer. It has a reputation of being very unsecure and letting in malware and adware.
I may never have to leave the couch again.
I have noticed while scanning through the channel program guide that several of the ‘religious’ channels [INSP, FAMNET, BYUTV] are also airing old regular TV series.
Sorry Dude what’s Zulu ???
I believe Svengoolie is also on Me TV. He is the late night horror host on U-26 in Chicago. He is the only thing I miss not having real tv or cable.
I always get a kick out of “Racket Squad.” Slews of familiar post-war era b-actors populated the episodes. Even more fun is the “Boston Blackie” tv-series with Kent Taylor, which sported much more on-location shooting, and really captures the early-1950s atmospherics.
Hulu. Sorry, I mis-typed on my phone.
GET A ROKU! Sorry for screaming, but it truly is the BEST $90 we ever spent. You’ll have so many old shows/new shows/radio stations/ that you’ll never sleep again. Hulu is on ROKU with a zillion other channels.

Of course most all the public domain old shows can be had for streaming or download by searching here:

‘Follow that man” is my favorite!
Netflix streaming ($8.00 + tax per month) is a great bargain.
I use it via ROKU.
No commercials.

Also via ROKU are several commercial channels — Crackle.com, for example.
Thanks for the links! I’m watching episode 1 of “Follow That Man” right now.
how do I change media player in tubtub.com?
