This was not the heavy artillery from the Obama campaign, this was a mere spitwad. This was a small probe to see how Romney would react. How did he do? he crashed and burned. Of the three available choices; 1. strongly deny it ever happened, 2. admit it happened and show remorse, 3. say I don’t remeber, he chose the worst one possible, 3, lie then dance. 1 or 2 and it’s a two news-cycle story. 3 reinforces his image as a flip flopper and allows the story to linger throughout the campaign. He just doesn’t have the instincts of a skilled politician.

Was this a trivial hit piece by Jason Horowitz of the Washington Post, yes. So are there going to be twenty more just like it between now and Nov?, yes. Can Romney complain that his opponent is not playing fair, without eveyone rolling on the ground in laughter, no. This was a total meaningless story expect for one thing, how Romney handled it. Obama’s boys are laughing.

Question, who wins the battle of; you put a dog on the roof, well you ate a dog, well you were a bully, well you did drugs, answer - Obama. Dem voters are the quintessential brain-dead-voter. ‘Hope and change’ was all it took four years ago. Obama is intentionally trying to draw Romney into a fight about inanities because he can’t run on his record.

So why is Romney obliging Obama by jumping into the gutter with him. Simple, Romney doesn’t want to run on his record either. Romneycare, flip flops on gay marriage, guns, abortion, immigration, climate change among others. I ask again, how did we allow this to happen?

We didn’t allow it to happen, friend. You, I and others like us fought tooth and nail to prevent it from happening, but the sad fact of life is that establishment RINOs and their Democrat counterparts have had decades to stack the deck in their favor.

The entire primary system is set up in ways that favor their chosen candidates. The fundraising and logistics support controlled by the party apparatus always goes to their favorites.

The Georgetown Cocktail Party set, Republican and Democrat alike, would much rather lose an election than lose the behind-the-scenes control they have carved out over the last 60 years or more.

But try not to be too discouraged. The Tea Party rocked them back on their heels in the last election and we’ve already taken two major RINO scalps in this cycle. If we can force Romney to take Sarah or West as a running mate, we’ll be able to keep him honest.

Now, admittedly, that is not as good as having a genuine Conservative at the top of the ticket, but it is a whole lot better than nothing. And the point I made in my post above remains germane.

The reality is, we must defeat Obama.

I’d sell my soul to the Devil and condemn myself to Hell for time and all eternity if I could be sure that in doing so I would permanently remove that abomination from office. The stakes are that high. Not just for me, my family and my nation, but for the entire Human race.

Faced with that reality, I’ll get behind Romney this election. I’ll do what I can to get him elected, even if I can’t stand him personally.

The alternative is simply unthinkable.
