Cell nucleii are the ultimate data processing systems. Each more complex than the most sophisticated micro processor chip available. Naw, they're more like chemical factories... there's not any kind of thought or planning that goes into what happens inside a nucleus. It's just a bunch of chemical reactions proceeding according to the laws of physics.
