I think George Steinbrenner was a Republican. When I posted this i had truly forgotten about Rush’s effort to become a part owner of the Rams. Were he to try to buy a share of an MLB franchise, I’m sure he’d be denied.
Think again. Look at his political contributions down through the years; the lion's share went to 'Rats. Yes, he got in trouble with his illegal contribution to the Nixon campaign, but Nixon was an exception to the rule, for whatever reason.
I think he was a Blue Dog Democrat. His involvement in campaign finance that got him convicted was with Democrats for Nixon.
