In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

enjoin (en-JOIN) verb tr.
1. To order or prescribe a course of action.
2. To forbid or restrain.

Example sentences:
"Ajanlekoko enjoined the members of the Building Collapse Prevention Guild (BCPG) to continue the struggle."
---Okwy Iroegbu-Chikezie; Group Advises Govt on Building Failures; The Nation (Lagos, Nigeria); May 22, 2012.

"It asks a court to declare the ordinance invalid and enjoin the city from enforcing it."
---Bruce Vielmetti; Hispanic Group Sues Over Milwaukee Contracting Rule; The Journal Sentinel (Milwaukee, Wisconsin); May 1, 2012.

Etymology:
A contranym or word with contrary meanings. Sometimes the meanings are as diverse as black and white (cleave: to split, to stick), but often they are in shades of gray. From Old French enjoindre, from Latin injungere (to join), from in- (towards) + jungere (to join). Ultimately from the Indo-European root yeug- (to join), which is also the ancestor of junction, yoke, yoga, adjust, juxtapose, junta, syzygy, jugular, and rejoinder. Earliest documented use: around 1225.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Makes it much more vulgar when you realize O was talking about Michelle doing push-ups on the Ellen’s show. Makes it a lesbo joke, too. He is disgusting.

It must suck to have judgment that poor when you aren’t drunk! 9 miles is a long way to try to go in a stolen golf cart in the dark.

Eric Holder seems to be hoping
For someome to be on his side
And enjoin him from explaining
What he’s attempting to hide

He’s using a convienient memory
At this hearing, as he is grilled
As if he were blissfully unaware
Of anyone having been killed

He’s acting just like Nixon’s men
Going Haldeman and Mitchell’s way-
But it didn’t work for those two
And it won’t here, now, today

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone but Clinton try to play artful dodger like that-does anmyone really think that he has a memory that short for events like that?

Today he implicated Axelrod and the DNC. This is getting good. A+ for you.
