Timothy Michael Poe won over the crowd and the judges of NBCs Americas Got Talent even before he began to sing, with his moving story of blocking a grenade blast in 2009 to save his buddies in Afghanistan an act of heroism he said broke his back and left him with a brain injury.

The medical records show he was an out patient in the emergency room.
My opinion, but if he was injured by a grenade when protecting his troops from a grenade, I think he would have spent more time in the hospital than as an outpatient emergency room patient. I guess we'll find out eventually.
He is a liar. The picture he showed of himself is of another soldier - who is incensed.
They are going to let Tim continue..but boy is he going to get skewered about this.
The Mrs. and I noticed how he suddenly stopped stuttering after he exited the stage.
I think he’s a phony.
So far, his entire story is bunk. Another soldier who claims to know him said his entire backstory is fake. Standard slacker with no ombat experience whatsoever.
“He is a liar. The picture he showed of himself is of another soldier - who is incensed.”
Apparently, the fiance’ is saying the picture was uploaded and sent by accident. yea, sure...
His medical records do not prove anything.
It truly is just awful when cowards lie like this. He would have been better off just saying he had a life long stutter and learned to correct it by singing in the shower.
Is he a registered Dem? Seems so. Outrageous blatant lying comes as naturally to them as breathing.
Maybe Jesse Ventura can take his place.
Maybe he can get John F.Kerry ,who served in Vietnam , to verify the purple heart he would have gotten if wounded as he said he was? I don’t know — I have not seen his records-but
if a grenade blast “broke his back” if memory serves me right—it would have required more than out patient treatment. If his
buddies were located—and willing to talk they might verify his comments— or they might verify his commanders comments.
I will wait and see what shakes out. A career ending broken back clearly seems to warrant more than outpatient treatment.
Even if he weren't awarded a medal for heroism, getting such a combat injury would definitely earn him a Purple Heart.
good point
