Bob Beckel, actually goes to my old church—where he was invited by his very good friend Cal Thomas (yes, THAT Cal Thomas, the arch-Conservative).
Beckel used to drink, into alcoholism—but gave it up, when he gave his life to Christ. He also gave up any support for pro-abortion groups—support he used to routinely give. Unfortunately, he’s still a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat...and yes, something of a useful-idiot—and a token liberal Democrat on Fox.
Beckel is also though, a committed evangelical Christian.
(Yes being evangelical, and liberal... is an odd combination—and I don’t defend the irreconcilables there...)
Beckel, like Thomas is in his mid 60s...and probably is starting to fade a bit. Mental lapses like mixing up a date —under the nervousness of TV lights though...isn’t necessarily a sign of drunkenness.

Excuse me, but, while mid-60s may seem ancient to you, but most of us oldsters are not fading mentally. Physically, perhaps but not mentally. My husband is in his late 60s, and he is at the top of his game mentally.
As far as the Christian bit goes, I have seen nothing in Beckel’s nasty comments and demeanor that bespeaks a Christian sensibility.
