We carry .357’s in our Out n’ About’s I carry a Ruger SP101 .357 and the Little Lady carries a S & W 686 2 1/2 inch .357.

According Abood the average gun fight lasts 3 second’s and it is at 7 feet. So no need for the 18 - 19 shooters.

What if the confrontation does not conform to averages?

What if the bad guy has friends?

An acquaintance of mine was a Federal Agent and a pistol competitor and he got into an exchange of fire with a perp at contact distances and they both missed.

Hope is not an effective defense strategy.

I carry a Ruger SP101

Truly, that's on my wish list. A hammerless 101. I love Rugers.

Gun fights in these parts can involve 3 to 4 shooters at street to house or car to sidewalk distances. Usually ambush style.

Dan Wesson .357 mag with the 2 1/2” barrel.

The bad guy is gonna KNOW that he is in a gun fight! (But only if I miss with the first shot. ;’)~

Don't laugh, but I got a Ladysmith (hammerless) in .38 spl as a backup, about the same time I realized the auto I normally carry won't cycle well in a parka pocket. I can get five out through the pocket and buy time to get the .45 auto out if need be, and at 7 ft, the little pistol points well enough. The element of surprise is worth something.

Of course, if it comes to that, I might need a new parka.

The Mrs saw it, and she had to get one, too...
