Cremation doesn’t cost much.

Can’t they all just get a job?

3.8 million and he didn’t buy life insurance? They’re just looking for a $$bomb.

How despicable that in this country, one would need to pay $22K to bury a loved one. Of course, I’ve no doubt they can bury him for a lot let than that. But even at a minimum, it would cost $3-$5k or more. It’s such a despicable racket - the funeral business.

...Much of which she made by exploiting Rodney’s story. Otis Chandler should ante up too.

I figured that is probably why he committed suicide. He was out of money.

Agreed. He took the $$$, it went for booze, blow, and ho's, and he couldn't deal with being poor on the street.

That said, the level of venom on this thread is disgusting. I expected FReepers to show a little more class, but maybe it’s just a sign of the times.

After 3 1/2 years of Obama, do not be shocked at how little we care about the scum of the earth. Do not be surprised if attitudes get dramatically worse.

I’m not shocked. Just a little saddened. I miss what FR used to be.

Just make sure he doesn't get put in the recycle bin.

Good riddance!

WTH kind of funeral costs upward of $22,000????

They can cremate him for around $2,000 I’d think. They want to have some huge hullaballo and let everyone else pay for it.

The man squandered millions. If they need donations I say they need to go ask Jesse and Al to foot the bill.

I’m not shocked. Just a little saddened. I miss what FR used to be.

I miss what my country used to be.

FR is reflecting the attitudes of the middle-class population in general, and those attitudes have gotten MUCH harder over the last few years. Most people, myself included, have seen our 401K's taking big hits. We have seen increasing amounts of gang attacks and "wildings". We see the underclass consuming ever higher amounts of our income, and complaining that they aren't getting more.

We are DONE with being nice. We are DONE with turning the other cheek.

They’d just blow it on coke, Chivas, grass and caddy SUV’s and ol’ Rodney will STILL be propped up on the front porch with flies around his anus.
