That is what I was thinking. While they did assault her. She GAVE them the purse.

That's right. One could just as easily make the argument that she bought the milkshake, however clumsily served, for $2000 and an alligator purse.

Sorry, you're wrong. They know the purse isn't theirs, they also knew why she threw it and never intended for them to keep it. Keeping the purse amounts to stealing, $2000 makes it grand theft if I recall correctly. They should have thrown the purse back out the window and kept driving.
