True - I work in a MA hospital and I see where this is going.
The gov heavy hand of red tape is choking healthcare - this “free” healthcare is not like free widgets - this is a service that needs to be provided by physicians and nurses. The game is on to do twice as much with half the resources. But the tragic outcome will be massive burn-out and a low quality, with reduced availability of medical care. We have a shortage of physicians now. Foreign doctors and NP’s will be filling the gap. More red tape will try to standardize care for better “quality”, and this will further demoralize healthcare workers. HHS is a monster. Visit their website and look at the regulations for yourself. Government is not G_d and in trying to be, it becomes demonic. We’ve seen the experiment in Europe and it is not going well.

I bet quite a few people are suddenly reappraising their current medical school opportunities. All the money and time being spent for medical training for what could very well become assembly line minimal wage hospital or medical wages?

If I had any of my kids in medical school right now I would take them out immediately, find something else.
