Since I have no experience in posting a vanity, I can only hope that I have done this right?

Ummm, just saw this. You might want to reconsider that tagline.

WELL JIM, ENJOY THE BED YOU HAVE MADE: Quix's latest Opus Installment -- http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2902837/posts

Now I understand what happened.

...my brain is just on over load and numb to the realities that I feared months before we elected this king.

I hear you. We're all a bit shaky since Roberts' decision on Obamacare. That was a game changer that could well bring on the Second American Revolution, and perhaps it's a good thing that it will.

Until then, just try to find peace in simple pleasures and quiet. What lies ahead is bigger than most of us can confront or easily digest at the moment.

He spelled "irregardless" correctly. It's just not considered a "standard" word, that's all.... :)

True, but under the standard rules of English word formation, irregardless contains a double negative in the prefix. Libs have bastardized the Constitution, our culture, and our language quite enough, thank you.

I think you are hallucinating; Beeber, stoone, rabbit? Do you mean drink beer then get stoned and give it to the rabbit? I already ate the pancake, what?

WHAT???

Geeez Louise, man, you're doing it all wrong!

I know it's the 4th and all, but don't you know better than to use your FR beeber while drinking?? Now look what you've done. That poor rabbit will probably start puking it's poor little guts out any minute, due to all the syrup you poured on that pancake!

And have you forgotten your penance already? How are you going to perform the sacred self-flagellation ritual without a certified bunny head pancake?

Sheeesh, I don't know what to do now. What a mess. I think I'll have to call the Mods in on this one.

Oh, you're quite correct on that score. Personally I avoid that usage, since it's not only a double negative, it's not an effective positive, since it is taken to mean exactly the same thing as "regardless". So I have always preferred "regardless". In fact, for most of my 60 years I've considered "irregardless" flat-out incorrect; a non-word. I was at first shocked to see it get accepted.

Then I thought about "flammable" and "inflammable", and a few other examples, and decided to lighten up about it. Hence my tongue-in-cheek mention of a campaign to consider "irregardless" standard.

Honestly I do want to redeem myself. I have not as yet taken a drink nor drug, and I can’t find the rabbit. I have already eaten the pancake with syrup but will wait for further instructions from the Mod. Are you sure you don’t mean mother? Very confused?

Now that you remind me, that was the glitch when I used it on some of my college papers. I had forgotten why my professor always flagged it, but I remembered that I had promised my self not to use it again. Old habits are hard to break.

That was exactly was my plan for the day, a nice easy read in the garden; No politics. When the revolution starts, ping me, I am all in. “Give me Liberty or give me death”, I was born to be free!

Ok, you're driving me around a pole now.

Tell you what. Forget the sacred self-flagellating ritual. Just turn your beeber to stune and shoot yourself in the arm. LOL

There ya go. I think that's going to be sound advice for a lot of us, for the time being. I've got a good book that I'd like to crack open today, myself. Gotta burn some meat on the grill for the carnivores in my house, then I'll settle down with a cold one :-)

Happy Independence Day, my friend!

I do want to thank everyone who posted today on this thread as it did much to brighten my day through some tears due to the frustration and loss...To many things to mention in the political arena but we all know them to well here. How does this go “If your not depressed, your not paying attention”? That is where I am at, and then a lot more!

Well even though we have lost the original intent of this vanity, I still think Roberts looks like howdy doody’s puppet, and yes, without the intelligence of a block of sculptured wood.

You have a great day as well, but to call it independence day will have to be changed to “dependence day”, and that I can not celebrate but morn for the duration!

To: tcat; All

I just hit the refresh button to check my pings, and saw a new thread from/about Quix in the sidebar. Unfortunately, it disappeared when my page refreshed.

Anyone read it?

Never mind, y’all. I found the Quix thread. An extraterrestrial opus if I ever did see one. Unreal...
