It’s about time Darwin came back to visit Chicago, so he can see how wrong he was about “evolution”.

In our school it's almost the opposite— offering “high honors” courses that add another 10% of the grade earned onto your gpa for ranking purposes only. You still get the regular grade earned on your report card. And “high honors” is only offered in math, science, English and Social Studies, so any interest outside those courses could actually hurt your ranking. Any business, technical, music or Art classes kids are steered away from for fear of losing ranking. And why implement this program now? Who knows because the district is strapped for cash but the union makes sure the “high honors” teachers get additional pay. Did I mention all students take the same finals in these core courses unless they're in special Ed? So just what exactly is a “high honors” class that my daughter feels like she has to give up every other interest for? I've gotten no straight answer, just “they'll do more work at a faster pace”.

Dig out that change jar.
Every little bit helps.

Consider becoming a monthly donor.
It's easy, and with enough participants
we could eliminate FReepathons.

So this group doesn’t want any of its students getting into the best colleges?
This is something most of the best colleges use as part of determining entry.

George Washington became our first President because he exemplified the values of his day. Barack Hussein Obama became the last occupant of our White House for the same reason.

It depends how they rank students.

I took two languages and advanced placement subjects, so my Aminus kept me from a high enough grade to go to my high school’s “honor banquet”.

So those of us in Advanced placement held our own “dishonors banquet” at a local restaurant...after the school found out, they decided to give extra points to those of us who took advanced placement calculus instead of business math or typing...
