Growing up, when parents wanted a night out, they called on their neighbors - and returned the favor when the other couple wanted a night out.

well Hitlery was right on one thing....it does take a village to raise a child..growing up we had neighbors and aunts and uncles etc who would look out for all the kids....it was a given....

I messed up and moved a million miles from my home and don't have any family where I live....thus, we couldn't really go out easily...finding babysitters that you trusted?......difficult sometimes...

what we and others like us did though is get together to play cards....kids could run around and we all had a good time...
