Let me see, Penn State initiates a report that dumps on joe Pat, the dead guy. NCAA penalizes Penn State for something.
Questions:
1. How legitimate is the report?
2. What NCAA rule did Penn State break that would require a penalty?
3. Who does this penalty penalize, the bureaucracy of Penn or the people depending on Penn for a living or education.?
Just asking.

1. Ex-Fbi chief suggests the report would be legit, commissioned by Penn State.

2. The ncaa rule they broke was “lack of institutional control”, meaning the university didnt have the desire or means to oversee how the athletic program was run. The administration itself was complicit in the scandal as well the head of the board of trustees, who knew of the investigation yet told only 2 or 3 of the 33 board members. The board might have been able to take a proactive stance and cleared the air years ago.

3. It penalizes psu’s ability to win a bunch of games. The games will still be played, the coaching staff and members of the athletic department aren’t losing their jobs, the local economy still benefits from the 5 or 6 home game weekends, and no one is being denied an education.

PSU brought in $270,000,000+ in donations this year from alumni, way above their usual take, adding to their $1,800,000,000 endowment.
