The administration itself was complicit in the scandal as well the head of the board of trustees, who knew of the investigation yet told only 2 or 3 of the 33 board members. The board might have been able to take a proactive stance and cleared the air years ago.
3. It penalizes psu’s ability to win a bunch of games. The games will still be played, the coaching staff and members of the athletic department aren’t losing their jobs, the local economy still benefits from the 5 or 6 home game weekends, and no one is being denied an education.
PSU brought in $270,000,000+ in donations this year from alumni, way above their usual take, adding to their $1,800,000,000 endowment.
