richer Anglo foods made their way to North America "Anglo" foods? like steak and kidney pie, toad in the hole, bangers and mash, or salmagundi soup? I didn't know that the Indians of the Southwest got into that sort of cuisine.

"mash" ~ wouldn't know about mashed potatoes in the Desert SW, but wherever potatoes wandered I'm sure they ended up that way. BTW, they originate in the Andean highlands, not Europe.
Regarding Europe, the potato arrived and there was their doom!
