Tea party’s Cruz looks poised for Texas triumph

(SNIPETS...best parts IMHO)

The two most recent public polls have shown Cruz ahead. And a Dewhurst ally with knowledge of an internal survey separate from the campaigns told POLITICO his preferred candidate was trailing by high single digits heading into the weekend.

“I think [Dewhurst’s] done,” said the Republican who shared the information in exchange for anonymity. “It’s Nebraska, Indiana. You just smell it. He’s toast.”

”There’s an intangible feeling out there that he’s got the momentum,” Utah Sen. Mike Lee said of Cruz. The two appeared together at a FreedomWorks convention in Dallas Thursday night. “He’s a genius … He’s the candidate to beat, he’s the candidate who is going to win.”

An Austin-based GOP-er who runs in Dewhurst’s circles asserted the view within the campaign was equally grim, lamenting the drag of a consultant-heavy team that hadn’t prepared for the prospect of a drawn-out runoff.

“The campaign has more political consultants than the Mormon Tabernacle Choir has singers,” groused the insider.

Last paragraph...

“[Cruz] had no chance under the old rules, but he has every chance to win under the new political reality where the American people are in charge,” DeMint told the faithful Friday. “Washington no longer controls things.”

Don't wanna count the ol chickens before they hatch, but I hope this report is accurate.

I hope the establishment republicans get the message. We're mad as hell and we're not gonna take it.

On Twitter PublicPolicyPolling ‏@ppppolls Cruz is up 55-40 with those who already voted so Dewhurst really needs a huge election day turnout to have any chance

Dewhurst went negative early and has gotten worse as time runs out and that's a major turn-off for us Texicans. We would rather he run on his record but since the biggest thing he ever did was that Trans-Texas Corridor he has to keep his mouth shut. The TTC was that project where the state was to build a 1/4 mile wide highway/railroad complex from Mexico to the Red River with tax payers money and emanate domain land on the cheap, then the whole thing was to be turned over to a Spanish company for 99 years and the same tax payers who paid to have it built would then have to pay to drive on it with most of the profits going to Spain. Nothing Cruz has done even comes close to that bit of theft.

Wonder which one of the Dewhurst shills that have infected this place lately spilt the beans here.

Once Dewhurst is done, Conservatives need to focus on removing the bastard traitor House Speaker Joe Straus.

Dewhurst who claims to be a self made business man made all his winning the Jimmy Carter Co Generator Lotto of 1980.

He had the fuel and the capital to build a generator in west Texas. The Law stated that existing “public utilities” had to buy their generator output at their avoided costs.

So the rate payers ensured his rate of return that was more than the state allowed rate for TXU.

Made it on his own. Not.

Texans, if you haven’t voted yet, get out there Tuesday and bring some people. Go, Cruz!

Dewhurst didn’t think he had anything to worry about in the beginning.

When he figured out there might be a problem...the nasty attack ads started.

I used to think either Dewhurst or Cruz would be fine. No longer.

Dewhurst cratered himself with untrue ads. At least in my world.

Yep. Long ago they got the message, but they don't like it. And will do everything in their power to resist it. This election may be the point where that it over. This is up to We The People to FIX.

I think Dewhurst put the nail in the coffin when he tried to get Cruz to debate in Spanish.

Folks didn’t really appreciate that lil stunt.
