“It’s idiots like Akins that give “Conservatives” a bad name.”

That’s an overeaction.

Not really. Akins is like a TV parody of a conservative ... Self-righteous, judgmental, smug, older white guy from a mostly rural state - poorly spoken and not very bright.

He’s going to become the Dem poster boy, symbolic of those backward, knuckle-dragging conservatives of the liberal imagination; in fact, he has already become that, judging by the amount of air time given to him. He’s going to be the star of the Dem show in Tampa (where they are mounting a counter-convention) and is going to drag the discussion away from the truly conservative ideas that Ryan has brought to the campaign and back into personal attacks.

It's well documented Claire McCaskill spend $1.5m running dog whistle ads for Akin in the primary.

Not for Akin - against Akin. Kind of a different thing than trying to claim they gave him money for his campaign.

Claire did run ads for Akin.

She did no such thing. She ran anti-Akin ads. Slip of the tongue there, huh? Sorta like saying "legitimate rape".

By the way, the Dems paid for anti-Brunner and anti-Steelman ads as well. Guess you'd say they "ran ads for" Brunnmer and Steelman.

Good grief.

Do you live in Missouri? Claire did not run any ads regarding Brunner or Steelman. Claire did in fact run ads for Akin, by calling him a 'right' winger... WHO do you think she was trying to get 'right wingers' out and voting 'for'.

Liberals do the devil's bidding and they are NOT stupid. Unfortunately, we conservatives claim we are about personal responsibility, yet overwhelmingly the majority keep pointing that finger of blame some place else. Alinsky taught the liberals their play book regarding how to deal effectively with Christians and we keeeeeeeep playing right into their hands.

God is NOT the author of confusion... which is what Akin planted, and Jesus said to be 'harmless' as a dove but wiser than the serpent. Do you have a clue what that instruction literally means. Taking on the 'serpent' meant to go for the head, not to inflame his followers with stupidity.

Perhaps you didn't see them. I did.

Do you have a problem with a candidate being "right wing" as described in the ads? Exactly how "right wing" is it a problem for a candidate to be in your view? Do you think it is a bad thing that people voted for someone who wants to shut down some federal agencies such as the Dept of Ed, Dept of Energy?

It's unclear why you think the ads themselves were a bad thing. She obviously was trying to appeal to the so-called "moderates", but it turned out there were a lot more "right wingers" in MO than she realized. (She probably created them by being such a left winger herself.)
