A civil union is based on the concept of marriage.

Marriage is a cornerstone of civilization.

You redesign civil union into something weirdo and you weaken civilization.

That’s why.

Yes, marriage and families are the corner stone of civilization, and it is also correct licensing of marriages is a modern construct.
I can say with certainly, before the government got involved in licensing marriage, there were families and marriage.

Maybe the left likes starting these silly issues so that we are preoccupied fighting over things that really don’t matter while the real important things get destroyed while we are not paying attention. To suggest that marriage is the cornerstone of civilization is to suggest that people were not civilized before marriage and that we have since marriage been civilized. I hardly believe either of those to be totally true. My point is that with a $16 Trillion debt and a country that is about to fall off a cliff the fact that we do not allow civil unions is by no means a safety net and the arguing over it is taking us away from the real issues that will destroy us. When the United States no longer exist in the first world because of the destruction caused by debt and unfunded liabilities all of us married folks can sit on a curb and say, “Well, at least we went down without homos being able to get married!” History will think we had it all on the ball, right?
