Clever story. I am always a bit amused when someone proudly claims to be an atheist but when a child is ill will ask you to “think good thoughts”. Seriously? Prayers are silly but “thinking good thoughts” is good?

I know an atheist whose daughter survived a bad car wreck. He said “Man, it was a miracle that she survived.”

So true! A friend of mine recently posted on Facebook that her mother is ill. Christians responded that they would pray for her, and athiests said, “I will think positive thoughts.” What good do they think that will do? Why not just say, “I hope your mom gets better” if they don’t believe in praying?
