Oh, they got me once for a post regarding what Terri Schiavo’s father might usefully have done with a shotgun. The “no violence in posts” rule is taken seriously, at least when someone notices.
Banning or account suspension appears to involve the terms in which the violence was couched, the mod’s mood, the identity of the individual poster, the point in time of the election cycle and a few other factors. I requested to be put on the zot ping so that I could distill the essential criteria for zotting. Am still mystified in some cases. Still don’t understand the definition of “personal attacks.”
