Actually, our neighbor greeted us with a hugh smile and the news that he fed the horse! He was so happy that he could open and shut the workshop door (Mr. Sg lubed it) and fed the horse w/o becoming breathless or collapsing. We fed the horse an apple (Gala—cored and quartered—did you know that horses choke relatively easily and that they can’t vomit which is why they get into serious trouble with digestive disorders?). He forgot to give the horse water and cover the feed barrels, so it’s a good thing we checked. His increased endurance is very, very good news. We’ll still go over to check on things, but the worry titer is definitely on the downswing. Life is good!
