Nothing to do with Annapolis.
Still, I can grow beans here. Not quite that many. Wow!
My dad grew pinto beans in the “garden” that spread over almost an acre. It contained so many edibles...red & white potatoes, three kinds of string beans, carrots, peas, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, acorn squash, summer squash, corn, pop corn, raspberries, strawberries, gooseberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, cherry trees, plum trees, peach trees, turnips, etc. My mother canned as much as she could, and the crops are what got us through the winters.
We also had a hog that was added to a side of beef in the cold locker in town, so our meals were simple and home grown. I was married and 18 years old before I ever ate commercial fruits or vegetables.
Did I miss anything? I don’t think so! LOL!
