“Did you have to give them a telephone number? If so did you do so?”
I was in a “Tractor Supply” store a couple of days ago, (They sell other things too) I grabbed a bag of roasted peanuts, took them to the check out and the female clerk rang them up, $2.56 and she asked me for my phone number. I looked her straight in the eye and said, “I’m sorry but I don’t swing that way”.
It took a few seconds for it to register on her, then she got a little indignant and explained that they request phone numbers, then match it to an address, then mail coupons. I said, “yeah riiiight” as I walked away.
