How do we get our strategy suggestions across to the RNC/Romney camp?
You need to find a way to relay your thread to them. Or abstract the key suggestions to a list of 3 and send it off.

You said it best, Yaelle.

Reagan’s way worked then and will work today given that Obama is now exhaling nothing more than doom and gloom because that’s what he’s brought us to. We don’t have anything left ... nor does he. We feel, eat and breathe it every day, and it’s having its effect.

What did Obama do to get the young folks’ attention? What did Reagan do to get everyone’s attention? What did Churchill do to put the fight back into the worn out and weary? O: Lie. R: Truth and respect. C: Truth and courage.

The young are keener to detect a lie than are older libs and dems who just don’t care to. Those who have children to raise and the young have lots more at stake, and an honest appeal given with dignity and respect to their common sense must be made.

It’s going to do little good to attack the one who’s brought us to this. Matter of fact, it could do harm when it comes to the female vote. People already know who is responsible. They may not know the things we know at FR, but they know the cost of a gallon of gas. They want and need a man who’s willing to stand up and give them the ugly truth without backing away from it himself. He needs to get in front of it, own it, and put it on his shoulders as President. They need to see and hear courage. But, some respect must be shown them before their attention will be given to Romney.

They can respect Romney for not name-calling and putting them to shame for their last vote. He can raise their level of dignity and their belief in him by miles if he can come across as having belief in the voter to do what is best for the voter’s family and country - regardless of how they voted last time. He should speak as if Obama is already gone.

Simply ignore the idiot “over there” just as people ignore any idiot in any room out of dignity for themselves. Raise the bar.

And it doesn’t have to be raised much to be over O’s head.

As always, Yaelle,

Best Regards,

SC

Believe me, someone in the Romney camp reads FR.

Remember, this is show prep for Limbaugh. I’d be surprised if someone close to Romney hasn’t already read this thread.

I hope they are already thinking along some of these lines, but if there is anything they might not have thought of, please let us inspire them.

Bravo! This is a great one.

Romney needs to build a world in the viewers’/listeners’ heads about the kind of America they deserve and the kind of America he will lead.

Agreed, yes! Romney needs to take the debate to a higher level.

And to add to what Eastwood said at the convention:

“But I’d just like to say something, ladies and gentlemen. Something that I think is very important. It is that, you, we, we own this country.

“Thank you. Thank you.

“Yes, we own it. And it’s not you owning it and not politicians owning it. Politicians are employees of ours.

“And, so, they’re just going to come around and beg for votes every few years. It’s the same old deal. But I just think that it’s important that you realize and that you’re the best in the world.

“And whether you’re Democrat or whether you’re a Republican or whether you’re Libertarian or whatever, you’re the best. And we should not ever forget that.”

And to add to THAT, what Ayn Rand said, her sentiment:

“In the name of the best within us”

In the name of the best within American hearts.

"Mr. Obama, I have been a leader my entire career and I've been handed messes to clean up before, from the Salt Lake City Olympics to the state government of Massachusetts. Never in any of these situations did I even refer to my predecessor nor did I attempt to lay blame on them. For blaming others is not what true leaders do. True leaders assume responsibility and they get things fixed. True leaders do not blame their predecessors in order to make an excuse for their own inability for that approach is the hallmark of a poor and ineffective leader. Mr. Obama, in just over four months, I will be inheriting your mess but you can be assured that I will take full responsibility for it on Day One and I will put the right people in place to turn this nation back in the right direction."

That is an EXCELLENT talking point and I am repeating it here in hopes that Romney's campaign will pick up on it! (If they have'n't already figured it out for themselves, of course.)

Love your post. I wish he would ask Obama how much he and Michelle are worth. (’Course, I’m speaking dollar-wise ‘cause they’ve proven they’re not worth much any other way). It’s a helluva lot more than most understand it to be. That would drop a few jaws, level the playing field somewhat, and make them wonder about all those sweet promises and love for the poor “like [me]”. Bunch of BS.

Best Regards,

SC

Wish I had thought of that, Thecodont. Most excellent message that we desperately need to hear now. No browbeating nor beating around the bush. Just plain truthful talk, but uplifting and encouraging.

The average voter knows very little of politics, if any, and the little they do know is usually wrong. Try speaking facts to them and you see their eyes glaze over. They slap their head and ask, “Huh?” It’s then that you need to take your pinkie finger and shove that grey bit hanging out of their ear back inside their head.

The truth just ain’t cool right now and that’s the tough part the Romney camp have got to get around ... or over or under or barrel straight through to these people. Those who decide that they’ll wait another day - and gamble that all will be well - are children entitled to make adult decisions. Romney can’t give them all the nasty truth of politics, because their feelings would be hurt and they’d turn to the guy with the “cool” message. Truth has no buyers these days and it’s no longer a matter of ignorance that we’re dealing with; it’s pure damn walking, talking Stupidity-With-a-Vote in a lot of cases.

So, what’s left to appeal to but the heart? Hate to say this, but it’s truth: It’s precisely what Obama did and it’s what Romney should do now, except do it honestly: appeal to the heart and not the head with those undecided. Only diff being that now there are no more free cookies to go with it and the cow’s done gone and dried up. Let him be short on blaming and long on coming across as having strength and the background to bring about recovery that’s needed now to save us from going over the cliff tomorrow.

Best Regards Always,

SC

Everytime Obummer goes off topic and attack Gov Romney, Gov Romney should say: There you go again Mr. President using distraction tactics, lets tak about the most important topic for America today; the economy.

Gov Mitt Romney can bring up the president grading himself as incomplete and Gov Mitt Romney can say that’s a failing grade and tell the president that that America can’t afford the president to take the class againagain

Anticipate the cliched responses and defeat them before they are spoken. It is easy to do with these Leftists. This is how Newt debated. Unmask the cliches, the banal phrases, ridicule them (Saul Alinsky advises.)

Gov Romney can also point out president said his biggest failure is not telling the story better, Gov Romney can say we didn’t elect a storyteller-in-chief but a executive-in-chief
